Quantitative Panelbefragung zum Stromverbrauch in privaten Haushalten

Electricity is used in many ways in almost all households, for example for cooking, for hot water production, for lighting and for operating electrical appliances. The number of appliances in a household therefore has a particular influence on the level of electricity consumption. A presentation differentiated according to application purposes is elementary for forecasts on electricity demand as well as for the analysis of political measures, for example to increase efficiency in the household sector.

Within the scope of this project, detailed information is collected on, among other things, appliance equipment and intensity of use. The sample comprises about several thousand households and is drawn representatively from the part of the forsa.omninet household panel that provided valid information on electricity consumption in advance (in the project 'Energy Consumption of Private Households'). Additionally equipped with socio-economic data as well as information on housing conditions, an econometric model can be developed that allows conclusions to be drawn about the distribution of electricity consumption according to individual uses as well as the determinants of electricity consumption.
