INTERSHIPS

RWI offers internships in all competence areas and research groups.

What can you expect? 

Scientific internships will involve you in directly working on a project. You will learn how to prepare data, conduct empirical analyses and write scientific texts. At the same time, you will gain insights into economic policy consulting. During your internship, you will be supervised by experienced researchers.

 

What do we expect? 

For a scientific internship you should have completed at least four semesters of studies in economics. Basic knowledge in the desired research area is desirable, while interest in scientific work as well as in economic policy issues is a prerequisite. Furthermore, experience in literature and internet research, a good command of English, a good knowledge of MS Office applications as well as knowledge of econometrics are advantageous.

 

Where are you employed? 

The location may either be at RWI's headquarters are in Essen, or with one of the scientific divisions in the Berlin office. 

 

How long does an internship last? 

An internship lasts up to 3 months.

Mandatory internships can also exceed this time period according to the examination regulations.

 

When does the internship take place? 

You will coordinate the timing of your internship individually with your chosen department.

 

Do I receive remuneration? 

For a full-time internship (39.83 hours/week), you will receive an expense allowance of 300 euros per month. Alternatively - and mandatory during the semester - a part-time internship (19 hours/week) is possible; for this you will receive an expense allowance of 150 euros per month.
