EVALUATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

For a modern research center like RWI, publications in peer-reviewed journals are an important indicator of scientific performance. In addition, RWI is subject to several internal and external quality assurance mechanisms.

A research advisory board with a high-caliber and well-balanced membership accompanies the development of the institute and plays an active role in shaping it. It regularly subjects the Institute to a so-called audit to obtain a systematic review.

In addition, the Leibniz Association regularly evaluates its member institutes. In this process, the scientific performance, the coherence of the research program and the research policy significance are put to the test by an independent, external panel of experts. RWI most recently passed this evaluation in 2019 with excellent results (statement by the Senate of the Leibniz Association).
