Johannes Hollenbach has been a researcher in the Health Economics department since April 2021. Since June 2024, he has also been a research associate at the Chair of Empirical Economics at Paderborn University. While at RWI, he was a visiting researcher at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

His research focuses on applied econometrics and health economics. He is broadly interested in how choices related to human capital development over the life cycle affect physical and mental health, and how public policy can promote healthy aging.

Johannes holds an M.Sc. in Economics and a B.A. in International Economics and Development from the University of Bayreuth. During his studies, he worked as a student assistant at the Chairs of Development Economics and Institutional Economics and spent a semester abroad in South Korea.
