Project

Skilled labour for the green transition

The project aims to assess the availability of skilled labour in the context of the ecological transformation and to develop policy recommendations to improve this availability. To this end, the following research questions are to be answered: (1) Which skills and occupations play an important role in the ecological transformation? Which of these are particularly important for family businesses? (2) To what extent are these competences and occupations available? What regional differences exist in Germany? What is the special situation for family businesses? (3) In which of these occupations is there a shortage of skilled labour? (4) What is the situation in these professions regarding training and further education, especially in family businesses? (5) What are the implications of the answers to the previous questions for economic and education policy? These research questions are answered using empirical analyses based on various data sources and methods as well as interviews with stakeholders and further experts.
