RWI IMPULS

RWI Impulse: Dialogue between science and politics

RWI Impuls creates a confidential space for scientifically based policy discussions. Here, research and decision-making come together directly.

What is RWI Impuls?

RWI Impuls is an exclusive round-table format organised by RWI in Berlin. We invite selected individuals from politics, ministries and civil society. Together with researchers, they discuss current socio-political issues based on scientific evidence.

The events follow the Chatham House Rules. This guarantees an open, confidential exchange. A maximum of 15 people participate, including external guests and RWI researchers.

Our goals

RWI Impuls creates a platform for in-depth exchange on an equal footing. We combine scientific findings with practical politics. The focus is not on the presentation of individual studies, but on a holistic view of the current state of knowledge in research.

The format offers three benefits:

  • Politicians gain sound scientific insights for decision-making processes
  • Researchers gain a better understanding of the approach taken by political and social actors
  • The RWI engages in practical exchange with relevant actors

RWI Impuls takes place at least twice a year at the RWI's Berlin office. The events begin in the morning between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. and last 90 to 120 minutes.

Participation

Participation in our event series is by personal invitation only. If you are active in political Berlin and are interested in our topics, please register your interest. We identify guests with relevant expertise for each event to ensure a productive and relevant exchange.

The event series is aimed in particular at:

  • Members of Parliament and their staff
  • Employees of ministries and federal agencies
  • Members of councils, committees and associations
  • Representatives of civil society organisations
