On the one hand, this report represents an update of the innovation report from 2021. In the context of this report, those innovation indicators were updated for which more recent data is now available. The updates relate to sections 2.1 Human capital, education and training, 2.2 Research and development, 2.3 Patenting, 2.4 Knowledge- and technology-intensive business start-ups, 2.5 Innovation activity of enterprises and 2.6 Investment and infrastructure. Numerous indicators have been updated. In terms of content. Due to the short period of time since the completion of the 2021 report, the central statements and results of the following sections have not changed. In addition to the previously published Focus Reports, this report also contains the new Focus Report on "Economic Dynamics" report on the topic of "Economic dynamism in NRW through technology- and knowledge-intensive start-ups" (section 6).
