Labour market transitions of the self-employed
This project investigates the dynamics of self-employment in Europe against the background of technological change and labour-market polarization. The analysis focuses on inflows into and outflows from self-employment, as well as transitions between solo self-employment and self-employment with employees. For these transitions, the project first examines the role of individual-level determinants, second the role of occupation-level determinants, and third, the role of technological progress, and particularly the substitutability or complementarity with digital technologies.
