Effects of the statutory minimum wage on the wage structure and hours worked – MLK015
In this project, we evaluate the effects of the statutory minimum wage on
working hours and wages. We analyse both the minimum wage introduction
of 8.50 euros in 2015 and subsequent minimum wage increases. The main
data set for the analysis is the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP). To
validate the results, we conduct analyses based on the Structure of
Earnings Survey (VSE/VE). In addition, we examine the impact of the
minimum wage on wage inequality, wage mobility, multiple job holdings,
overtime, non-working time arrangements and working time recording.
