Profile

Patrick Thiel works as a researcher at the Research Data Center Ruhr since October 2020. Prior to this, he studied economics and psychology at the Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (B.Sc.), followed by a master’s degree in economics at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. His dissertation titled "Empirical Essays on Spatial Heterogeneities and Impact Evaluations" was supervised by Prof. Tobias Seidel (UDE) und Prof. Thomas Bauer (RUB/ RWI).


His research interests are urban and regional economics with a special focus on the housing market, amenities and environmental factors.


Patrick Thiel is responsible for the data management of the data sets “RWI-GEO-RED”, “RWI-GEO-REDX”, “Green-SÖP” and “RWI-GRECS”.
