Alexander Haering joined the "Health Economics" department in 2017. He studied Economics (B.Sc.) and Business Administration - Health Economics and Health Care Management (M.Sc.) at the University of Duisburg-Essen, where he also completed his PhD in 2021.
His research focuses on health economics, applied microeconometrics and behavioral economics.His primary focus is on the hospital sector, with a particular emphasis on digital maturity and efficient patient care. In addition, he studies risk preferences and works on various projects aimed at improving patient care.
Alexander Haering has published in international journals such as International Economic Review and is furthermore associated with the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences.
