Anwendungsbilanzen Nordrhein-Westfalen 2021 für die Bereiche Private Haushalte und Verkehr

Endbericht - Oktober 2024
Forschungsprojekt im Auftrag des Landesamtes für Natur, Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz Nordrhein-Westfalen

According to IT.NRW (2023), around half of the final energy consumption in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2021 was accounted for by private households (27%) and transport (24%). Households use energy pri-marily for space heating and hot water, but also for lighting their homes, cooking, and operating elec-trical appliances. In the transport sector, energy sources are used almost exclusively to generate me-chanical energy for vehicle propulsion. This study differentiates between the final energy consumption of private households and the transport sector in North Rhine-Westphalia according to energy applications for the year 2021. Methodological-ly, the project builds on the application balances for Germany, which the RWI has been compiling for several years on behalf of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Energiebilanzen e.V. (AGEB) for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK). This ensures that the results of this study are comparable with the application balances for Germany.
