Project

Accompanying evaluation of the sixth civil aviation research program (LuFO-VI) - of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK).

The project comprises the accompanying evaluation of the sixth civil aeronautics research program (LuFo-VI) of the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection (BMWK). In the period from 2020 to 2024, LuFo-VI will support
research and technology projects in the field of civil aviation. The aim of the program is to improve the technological basis of aviation research in Germany. To this end, the program addresses the existing market imperfections that result from specific characteristics of the innovation system in the field of aeronautics research in Germany. The evaluation builds on the already existing evaluation plan that is based on a triangulation of methods, i.e. different actor perspectives, data sources and analysis strategies (qualitative and quantitative) are taken into account. Econometric comparative group analyses are carried out, as well as technological case studies with the application of process tracing. The evaluation contract covers the period from January 31, 2023 until the submission of the final report to the EU Commission on June 30, 2024.
