Profile

Lukas Hörnig has been a scientist at RWI's Research Data Centre Ruhr since October 2019, where he has worked as a scientific assistant since 2017. Before joining the RWI, he studied economics at the University of Mannheim and Universidad Carlos III in Madrid (B.Sc.) as well as at the University of Duisburg-Essen (M.Sc.). He received his doctorate from Ruhr-University Bochum in April 2024. Upon invitation of Prof. Albrecht Glitz, he visited the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona in fall 2022.


His research focuses on the intersection of applied microeconometrics and regional economics, particularly with respect to labor and housing markets.

Lukas Hörnig supports scientists in GIS applications, among others data visualization in maps and spatial referencing.
