Florian Kirsch joined RWI as a researcher at the Department of Macroeconomics and Public Finance in 2021. He studied economics at the University of Bonn and at KU Leuven in Belgium. He obtained his Ph.D. in economics from the Bonn Graduate School of Economics in 2016. Before joining RWI, he worked as an economist in the scientific staff of the German Council of Economic Experts.
His research focuses on analysing and forecasting macroeconomic developments over the business cycle and in the medium term. In addition, he works on other topics in macroeconomics and economic policy.
