Cara Ebert is a researcher at RWI since February 2019 and the head of RWI’s Berlin Office since May 20223. Cara studied Economics at the Humboldt University of Berlin, the University of California Santa Barbara, and the University of Amsterdam and completed her PhD in Economics at the University of Göttingen (summa cum laude). For her PhD dissertation Cara was awarded the Young Researcher Award of the German Economic Association’s Research Group on Development Economics and the KfW Development Bank. In Fall 2023 she visited the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Cara studies questions of health, gender and migration at the household level in India and Western Africa.
Cara is also a Research Affiliate at the IZA Institute of Labor Economics and a fellow of the Joachim Herz Foundation.
