Ashwini Dabadge is PhD candidate with RWI under the Ruhr Graduate School in Economics since October 2021. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pune and a master’s degree in economics from University College London. She has further studied development economics at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. She has research experience on energy policy and has worked on topics related to energy, development and climate change. Before joining RWI, she worked with research organizations in India and Germany.

Ashwini's research interests lie in development economics and energy and environmental economics, particularly themes related to agriculture, climate change, political economy and impact evaluations. She has articles published in Nature Energy and Economic and Political Weekly.
