Erleichterte Einbürgerung steigert Schulerfolg von Kindern mit Migrationshintergrund
The Federal Cabinet has passed a bill to modernise citizenship law. This could improve the educational success of children with foreign origin. If these children receive a German passport, they are less likely to repeat a grade, they attend the academic school track more often and achieve better school grades on average than comparable children without German
German citizenship. These results are provided by a study conducted by the RWI - Leibniz Institute for
Economic Research and the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER).
