Individual giving is a key component of prosocial behavior, such as donating money, blood or time in the form of volunteering. Many aid organizations, sports clubs and other nonprofit institutions rely on donations and volunteerism to carry out their work. In doing so, they add value to society. In particular, the research group is investigating the motives underlying individual donation behavior and how the willingness to donate and the volume of donations can be increased.
