Bewertung der Tariftreueregelung – Gesetz zur Weiterentwicklung des Gesundheitsversorgung (GVWG)

Due to advancing demographic change and a major pull effect from hospitals there is a severe shortage of staff in long-term care. In order to counter this, politicians have responded with, among other things, the “tariff loyalty regulation” introduced as part of the Gesundheitsversorgungsweiterentwicklungsgesetz (GVWG). The aim of the GVWG is to make the nursing profession more attractive through better pay and thus counteract the shortage of nursing staff. The study examines the development of the nursing market in terms of the supply of nursing care, staff shortages and pay in order to investigate the influence of the collective bargaining agreement on current developments. In addition, we analyze further effects such as the tariffs, bureaucratic challenges or costs for care and derive recommendations from our results.
