Florian Neubauer joined RWI’s department “Climate and Development Policy” in May 2021. Since 2024, he has also served as a research associate for the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (Expertenkommission Forschung und Innovation, EFI), which advises the German Federal Government. Florian holds a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Connecticut, USA, a master’s degree in Development Economics from Georg-August-University Göttingen, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Leuphana University Lüneburg. During his studies, Florian gained experience internationally at the United Nations in New York as well as in the field in Kenya, Liberia, and El Salvador and domestically at GIZ in Eschborn.
