Since December 2015, Astrid Schürmann is head of the service department "Library and information".
She received her M.A. degree in Library and Information Science from Humboldt University Berlin and worked in leading positions at university libraries for several years before joining RWI. Besides acting as RWI's Open Access Officer, Astrid was also elected Equal Opportunity Officer in March 2017 and held office until September 2023.
She is member of the Leibniz working groups "Libraries and Information Centres" and "Open Access and Publication Management".
