FAIRNESS AND INEQUALITY

Personal perceptions of fairness have a major influence on individual decision-making behavior. For example, people are willing to forgo economic gains in favor of fairness. Furthermore, their fairness principles influence their voting and election behavior. The perception of fairness is thus of central importance for the acceptance of political measures. In order to develop successful political measures for solving social problems - for example, a socially just mobility transition - that meet with acceptance among the population, it is therefore essential to better understand people's sense of fairness.
