Professor David E. Card receives honorary doctorate

David Card was Chairman of the Research Advisory Board of RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research from 2003 to 2011. He received the Alfred Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics for his empirical contributions to labor market economics. Among other things, he showed that an increase in minimum wages in the low-wage sector in the USA had hardly any negative effect on employment. On May 4 and 5, 2022, David Card was in the Ruhr area, among other things to receive an honorary doctorate from Ruhr University Bochum.
