Schwindende Akzeptanz für die Energiewende? Ergebnisse einer wiederholten Bürgerbefragung

Germany’s Energiewende implies increasing surcharges for the promotion of green electricity generation technologies. Against this background, based on a survey among more than 7500 households conducted in the summer of 2017, this article empirically investigates the resulting cost burden for private households, as well as the willingness to pay for green electricity, and compares the results with those originating from former surveys of the years 2013 and 2015. Among the key results is that, in principle, the support for renewable energy technologies is still very high, but the willingness to pay for green electricity decreased between 2013 and 2017. Given this result, it is questionable whether citizens accept a further growing burden due to Germany’s Energiewende.
