Building on the Social-Ecological Panel (SÖP), which was established in the BMBF-funded Eval-MAP project, the Eval-MAP II research project pursued two objectives: Firstly, different adaptation and emission avoidance measures were analysed in terms of their acceptance and impact on private households and recommendations for improving these measures were made, taking into account their political feasibility. Secondly, the associated social impacts were analysed, such as the perception of the fairness of the distribution of the cost burden resulting from ambitious climate protection. The publicly accessible household panel dataset established in the earlier Eval-MAP project (fdz.rwi-essen.de/mikrodaten.html) was expanded by two additional survey waves in order to improve the basis for an evidence-based evaluation of climate policy instruments and climate change adaptation measures using this database and applying econometric and experimental methods.
