Ergebnisse der ersten nationalen Reifegradmessung deutscher Krankenhäuser

Zwischenbericht

The Hospital Future Act (KHZG) of 2020 aims to modernize the digital infrastructure of German hospitals. To evaluate its impact, the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) commissioned the DigitalRadar Hospital consortium in 2021 to develop a model for measuring digital maturity. The first measurement took place in 2021. After a pilot phase with 12 hospitals, data collection began in October 2021 and covered 1,624 hospitals. The results showed an average DigitalRadar score of 33.3 out of 100 points. Public hospitals performed best, while smaller and private hospitals achieved poorer results. The best results were in the areas of “structures and systems”, while “patient participation” and “telehealth” were weaker. An accompanying evaluation showed that the tool was generally considered helpful, but technical problems and limited resources made implementation difficult in smaller hospitals. The second survey will provide more accurate long-term trends and causes.
