Profile
Mr. Rumert has been a researcher at RWI since August 2025. He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Paderborn. Since 2021, he has been pursuing a PhD at the University of Wuppertal, focusing on the economics of education and higher education research.
His research aims to identify institutional and individual factors influencing study behavior and dropout, and to empirically analyze their effects. In doing so, he combines the analysis of administrative microdata on university students with behaviorally inspired field experiments, quasi-experimental methods, and statistical forecasting models. He focuses in particular on study trajectories, academic success, and the use of digital and scalable support systems in the context of higher education.
