Profile

Robin Jessen is head of the research group "Microstructure of Taxes and Transfers" and researcher at the Department of Macroeconomics and Public Finance at RWI. From February to October 2023 he was acting deputy head of the Department of Macroeconomics and Public Finance. He is also research affiliate at IZA - Institute of Labor Economics.

Before joining RWI in 2018, he was research associate at the Chair of Empirical Public Economics at the Free University of Berlin, as well as research associate and consultant at DIW Econ. Robin Jessen studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the Free University of Bolzano (BSc) and Public Economics at the Free University of Berlin (MSc). He completed his PhD in economics at the Free University of Berlin in 2017. 

His research focuses on public economics, labour economics, and macroeconomics.
