OptiStruk – Optimale Zuordnung von Patienten zu Fachabteilungen in Krankenhäusern nach Strukturqualität
The reform of the hospital landscape in Germany aims to provide patient care that meets actual needs. A key aspect of this reform is the minimum volume regulations, which, however, have limited significance in terms of actual treatment quality. The "OptiStruk" project develops a new quality indicator based on structural requirements for the treatment of brain infarctions and acute ischemic heart diseases. The indicator evaluates both the suitability of hospitals and the quality of treatments, generating new insights into the relationship between structural and outcome quality.
