4th Workshop on Causal Inference with Spatial Data "Intersection of Labour and Housing Markets"
The Forschungsdatenzetrum (FDZ) Ruhr at RWI is organising the planned workshop, 'Intersection of Labor and Housing Markets', in collaboration with the University of Duisburg-Essen. The workshop will take place on 10 and 11 September 2026 in Essen. The workshop aims to shed light on the interplay between labour and housing markets, an issue that is becoming increasingly important in light of structural change, urbanisation, housing shortages and rising rents. The workshop will bring researchers from the fields of labour market and housing economics together to strengthen an interface that has received little research attention to date. The diverse programme features keynotes by renowned scientists, lectures, poster sessions and an innovative mentoring programme to promote young scientists in particular. The workshop will explore individual, regional and political perspectives. Additionally, the workshop intends to expand networking within regional economic research in the Ruhr area, raise the profile of the FDZ, and encourage evidence-based policy advice.
