OUTPATIENT CARE

Outpatient care serves as the first point of contact within the healthcare system; inequities arising here often translate to the other health sectors. Within the Research Unit, we investigate the causes of these disparities, particularly with regard to insurance status, regional and socioeconomic factors. A further aspect of our research is the analysis of reimbursement incentives and coordination programs and their impact on access and quality of care. Within the EU-MSCA doctoral network “HEPARD”, we conduct international comparisons to analyze the specific impact of practice structures and coordination programs on the quality and cost of care.
