CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS

Coping with extreme weather events, such as droughts, floods, and storms, is a major part of life in many countries in the Global South. In these countries, public safety nets and formal insurance often function only to a limited extent, forcing households to manage the consequences of such events with limited support. Our research aims to quantify the socioeconomic impacts of extreme weather events on various dimensions of human well-being, including income, wealth, land ownership, nutrition, and health. We also address the distributional effects of extreme weather events.
