Die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung im Ausland: Leichte Belebung der internationalen Konjunktur

Global economic prospects have further brightened at the beginning of the year. In particular, world trade has continued to increase more strongly. In advanced economies private investment has benefited from the upswing in external trade. The upturn in industrial production in emerging markets is also likely to be driven by increased global demand. Moreover, commodity exporting countries benefited again from an increase in prices for raw materials. Monetary policy will not tighten its expansionary course despite increases in inflation and capacity utilization. Fiscal policy is not expected to provide additional stimuli for the real economy. Even though the US government plans to strengthen the economy by cutting taxes by increasing public investment, we expect small effects of these programs for real economic growth given that capacities seem to be almost fully utilized.
