RWI-PIK-CAPRI

Carbon Price Preferences Wave 1

The data set RWI-PIK-CAPRI – Carbon Price Preferences contains the data from a survey conducted in summer 2021 on the acceptance of national carbon pricing in Germany. The survey, which was conducted as part of the “Joint project CO2 price - Analysis of the short- and long-term effects of different carbon pricing variants on society and the economy” (https://www.co2-preis.info/) funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), contains extensive information on the socio-economic characteristics of the approximately 7,000 participants as well as their support and concerns about different levels of carbon prices with different redistribution variants.

A follow-up survey took place in summer 2023.

The RWI-PIK-CAPRI data will be made available to researchers by the FDZ Ruhr over time. The data from the first survey from 2021 is currently available.

The data sets are available free of charge for scientific purposes as a Scientific Use File (SUF) Off-site. For information on data access, please follow this link.
