Zivile und militärische Innovationen verzahnen
Innovation is essential for the sustainable prosperity of the German economy and plays a crucial role in tackling global challenges. The performance of the numerous stakeholders within the German innovation system is significantly influenced by the political framework, which can either promote or hinder innovation. As part of the ‘Innovation System Germany’ project, this acatech STUDY examines how civilian, military and dual-use innovation potential can be better harnessed without undermining key principles such as academic freedom, international cooperation and open innovation processes. Building on empirical findings, the study brings together the perspectives of various stakeholders from science, industry and society, as gathered through qualitative interviews, and sets out policy options for realising synergy potentials along the value chain.
