Eine Bestandsaufnahme des Innovationsgeschehens in der Metropole Ruhr
Innovation in a region is a key driver of prosperity. The Metropole Ruhr is in a national and international competition for new ideas and their implementation. The future development of the region is therefore determined by both the innovative strength of the players in the Ruhr region as well as the environment in which these innovations are implemented. Against this background, the aim of this study is to take stock of innovation activity in the Ruhr region. The innovative strength cannot be determined by one indicator alone, but is rather the result of a multidimensional rather from a multidimensional view based on an overall view of different indicators. This is why the present study therefore examines the status and development of the Ruhr region with regard to various dimensions of innovation, such as the level of education level, research activities, patent activity, innovative start-ups, scientific excellence, digital infrastructure and - influenced by all of these factors - productivity.
