Die digitale Transformation von Arbeit – vermessen und verstehen
Ein interdisziplinärer und methodischer Dialog zwischen Wirtschaftswissenschaft und Arbeitssoziologie
The article contrasts quantitative economic studies with predominantly qualitative sociological studies of work that deal with various aspects of the impact of the digital transformation on work. First, the individual disciplinary approaches and key findings on robotics and the routine content of tasks are compared. This highlights the different perspectives, methodologies and results, providing an initial insight into the potential and limitations of the respective approaches. Finally, we discuss where synergies can be leveraged in terms of methodology and epistemology and what concrete starting points can be identified for systematic, interdisciplinary and consistent mixed-methods research. These are supplemented by concrete proposals for capturing the digital transformation of working environments.
