Profile

Giulia Tarullo is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Labour Markets, Education, and Population Department and co-leader of the junior research group "Green Transition, Labour Markets, Vocational and Further Training", a joint project of RWI and IAB in cooperation with the HdBA. 

She obtained a joint PhD in Economics from UCLouvain (IRES/LIDAM) and Ghent University, under the supervision of Prof. Bart Cockx (UGent) and Prof. Muriel Dejemeppe (UCLouvain). During her PhD, she was awarded the UCLouvain FSR Fellowship. In Spring 2024, she visited the Economics Department at Sciences Po (Paris), hosted by Prof. Pierre Cahuc. She is affiliated researcher at Ghent University. 


Research interests: Labour economics, public economics, and microeconometrics.


She studies how labour market policies and the green transition influence firms' and workers' behaviour, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups. In her research, she relies on administrative micro data and causal inference techniques.
