Prevention

Prevention is gaining important in reducing the burden of disease and related costs while ensuring long-term quality of life. Within the Research Unit, we evaluate the effectiveness of screening and prevention programs, such as early cancer detection, as well as the determinants of vaccine hesitancy. In particular, we investigate how regional factors and financial incentives influence preventive behavior. Within the project “PRED(i)CKD“, we analyze innovative prediction models for chronic kidney disease to prevent severe disease progression and the need for cost-intensive dialysis through early intervention.
