Effects of the statutory minimum wage on the wage structure and hours worked - MLK036
The project evaluates the effects of the statutory minimum wage on wages and working hours. Building on projects already completed on behalf of the Geschäfts- und Informationsstelle für den Mindestlohn/BAuA, the current project focuses on the effects of the minimum wage increases in 2024 and 2025. The evaluation draws on monthly panel data from the Federal Statistical Office’s earnings survey (VE) for the years 2022 to 2025. The project further analyzes the influence of the minimum wage increase on wage distribution and inequality, the gender pay gap, and fair and functioning competitive conditions between employees and companies.
