Untersuchung der Umsetzung des Wirtschafts- und Strukturprogrammes im Rheinischen Revier: Evaluierung erster Wirkungen und regionale Trends 2020 - 2023

Evaluierung erster Wirkungen und regionale Trends 2020 - 2023

This report marks the start of reporting on the impact of structural support in Rheinisches Revier. The aim is to obtain initial findings on the effects of structural support in the at an early stage. Accordingly, the study contains initial key findings on central development trends before the start of support and in the period from 2020 to 2023. This is based on the indicators listed in the Economic and Structural Programme (WSP) for measuring the economic, social, and environmental impacts of the funded measures. This is used to check whether the funding measures are having an effect and whether they are helping to make the region fit for the future. This study evaluates the initial effects and identifies regional trends based on selected indicators. The economic and structural programme forms the basis for the implementation of structural support in the Rhineland mining region. It takes up the funding framework specified by the federal government in the Structural Strengthening Act for Coal Regions and specifies how the region intends to actively shape change. Four structural policy goals have been set for the development of the region. From the perspective of the North Rhine-Westphalian state government, the central goal is to secure value creation and employment and to create new jobs.
