Replicability at the Science-Policy Interface: The Case of Environmental Economics

Replication research has picked up speed in economics and the social sciences in recent years, in response to concerns about low replicability due to publication bias, low external validity and questionable research practices. The Institute for Replication (I4R) and RWI are at the forefront of this movement. During the first phase of replication research we have developed methodologies for mass replication and applied them in several meta-reproduction projects. This project will carry these experiences and approaches to the science-policy interface by putting focus on academic fields of utmost societal relevance. We will review and reproduce literatures in environmental economics, most notably air pollution, deforestation, and carbon pricing.
