Environment & Pandemics
Health is influenced by environmental and urban conditions. Within the Research Unit, we investigate the impact of environmental factors like air pollution and heat on healthcare provision and individual health. Another focus is the analysis of infectious diseases and their consequences, for instance by examining labor market effects of Long/Post-COVID. As part of the the Leibniz Lab “Pandemic Preparedness”, we additionally analyze deficiencies in the healthcare system and develop guidelines for pandemic-resilient urban spaces through international comparisons.
