Unternehmensfunktionen, Standortwahl und sektoraler Strukturwandel

In the last ten years, the overall economic regulatory framework for enterprises has changed considerably. The enterprises have reacted to this with a change of strategies, organisation concepts und choice of location. This article presents some of these organisation models and derives central questions and hypotheses from those for the empirical analysis. Entrepreneurial behaviour patterns become more and more differentiated and, alongside trade and direct foreign investment, other types of international co-operation gain in importance. This leads to a disintegration of traditional forms of organisation, particularly to a decentralisation of hitherto central functions, to the reduction in the vertical range of manufacture as well as the removal of peripheral activities to legally and economically independent and/or geographically separated units.
