Business Games for Farmers and Micro-entrepreneurs in Zambia
In many developing countries, livelihoods depend on small businesses and smallholder agriculture, yet incomes from these activities are often unstable and insufficient. Many farmers and micro-entrepreneurs lack the necessary management skills to run their businesses effectively. This project provides an impact evaluation of a program that tries to address this gap: Business Games, a simulation-based, three-day training program for farmers and entrepreneurs in Zambia, implemented by the German Sparkassenstiftung. We aim to help fill a regional evidence gap, assess the trade-off between program intensity and cost-effectiveness, and explore the potential of an innovative, behaviorally informed training approach.
