REFUGEES

In 2015 and 2016, more than one million refugees arrived in Germany. The research group investigates the economic and social effects of this strong influx of refugees. For example, a DFG-funded project analyzed the impact of the regional concentration of refugees and their type of accommodation on local real estate prices, election results and crime. In addition, the research group is investigating the educational and labor market integration of refugees.
