Projektvergabe durch die Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin (BAuA), Vergabe-Nr. 536043, Endbericht 11. Februar 2020

The research project aims to evaluate the effects of the introduction of the and increases of the statutory minimum wage on wages and working hours. The project was carried out jointly by RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research, the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IAW) and the IZA – Institute of Labor Economics on behalf of the German Minimum Wage Commission. The report answers the following research questions: To what extent can changes in the wage structure between 2014 and 2017 be attributed to the statutory minimum wage? To what extent are the effects of the minimum wage on hourly wages due to adjustments in gross income or working hours? How has wage mobility reacted to the statutory minimum wage? What impact did the minimum wage have on special payments and non-cash benefits? To what extent has the minimum wage affected the satisfaction, motivation and social participation of employees?
