Mandy Malan is currently finishing her PhD in Development Economics at Wageningen University and Research. Her PhD-thesis focuses on the socioeconomic impacts of land use change and environmental interventions in the Global South. Mandy holds a Master in International Development Economics from Wageningen University and Research and a Bachelor in Political Sciences from the University of Amsterdam. Before starting her PhD, she gained research experience working for The Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture. For her research, she has conducted fieldwork in Uganda and Sierra Leone.
