Jochen Kluve studied economics at the University of Heidelberg (Diplom-Volkswirt 1997) and Trinity College Dublin (M.Litt. Economics 1999). From 1998 to 2001 he pursued PhD studies at the University of Heidelberg (Dr.rer.pol. 2002), including a research visit to the Tinbergen Institute Amsterdam in 2001. Jochen's research focuses on labor economics and applied econometrics, specifically program evaluation, household formation, and causal inference. His work has been published in Economic Policy and the Journal of Applied Econometrics, among others. From 2001-2003 Jochen was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Labor Economics, UC Berkeley. He is also a research fellow of IZA, Bonn. Since October 2003 he has been working as research coordinator for "labor market policy and program evaluation" at RWI Essen.
